Photo Himuro-jinja Shrine was built at the foot of Mt.Kasuga-yama at the time of transfer of Heijo Capital. It used to be in Tenri city next to Nara city. Himuro (literally ice house) is a shrine dedicated to the God of ice. In its festival, a pole made of ice which was packed with carps and breams inside is put in front of the God.
